The Voice Lab

In this project, I organized, edited, and mixed the dialogue. I matched volumes and room tones, as well as mixing, using Pro Tools. I selected 2 songs from a sound library and edited their transitions through the clip. Finally, I did the final mix of dialogue + music. This project is for demonstration only (Not commercial).

In this video, I designed the sound of a basketball hitting the basket in an epic way using Pro tools to layer and mix sounds from the Soundly library. I wanted to enhance the feeling of accomplishment from the athlete and match the slow-motion feel of the visual. The music edit also had the goal of enhancing the slow-motion feel. I worked alone on this project. I received all the sounds - dialogue, sound effects, foley, music - to work on. I organized, edited, and mixed the dialogue, matching volumes and room tones, as well as enhancing the audio quality. I decided to use the production foley as it was, only mixing it to enhance the quality and reduce noise. The sound effects (wine pouring and chair moving) were enhanced by layering the original sounds with library sounds. The music was not changed, I only matched the volume and edited the transition from dialogue to music, back to dialogue. At last, I mixed it all together.
